Unclassified Crap [in English]
[originally published in the NGO Manifesto]
I've been asked to undertake some research. Finally, after weeks without any work to do - take any literally, please -, I have something to spend my time in. I have to admit it made me happy somehow. They want me to go through all the members of a NGO network, taking a look at their websites and trying to catch - should I say steal? - ideas. I'm also supposed to describe their interests and current activities, in order to match it with ours. "Network" has been the word used to refer to our future goal. Hope soon all the contributors to this blog [NGO Manifesto] will meet all together and start writing the NGO glossary; it's full of words like that, repeated continously in any document.
What I found looking through them is terrible. I'm seriously thinking on quitting and living here on my own, or even coming back to my home country. I cannot stand it anymore. All of them get money from almost the same donors. All of the them use, of course, the NGO Glossary. They have even developed a new dialect of English, the NGOan. One day we may write its grammar and give you some tips, it's really easy to learn. But for the moment, it's enough to describe it very briefly. Just build a functional-based text, use properly - meaning permanently - the NGO Lexicon and create senteces without any clear meaning. They have to be extremely vague and of course they cannot show any real commitment towards social change. If you manage to master, you'll be able to beg the responsibles of the social gaps some money to fund lots of very fruitful projects. Just use all the possibilities NGOan allows and never stop writing proposals and getting thousands of euros for amazing activities such as "study day" or "workshop" - don't even add an adjective to it, it's not necessary.
We'll, it's time to come back to my duties, to save the world and end with inequalities. To whom should we send our next project? A bank responsible of our poverty and house demolitions in te neighborhood? A government selling Israel the guns to kill our fellow Palestinians? The CEO responsible for firing 60 thousand workers? Another one exploiting them 14h a day without social benefits and almost for free?
It's crazy. Fuck them all.
